The Bar do Gomez, a general store turned bar in the Santa Tereza neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. One of the city's most charming areas, located on a hill close to downtown. It was one of the first aristocratic neighborhood and many historic homes and buildings are still there today. Largely abandoned by the elite ages ago, has been taken over by bohemians who have opened cafes, bars and galleries. (Australfoto/Douglas Engle)
