A recent outbreak of dengue fever has swamped hospitals in the city, and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is operating 3 field hospitals to help contain the fever. At least 67 people have died this year from dengue which spread by mosquitoes. The disease is normal in Rio, but an apparent neglect of prevention measures has let is get out of control this year.
