Runner Ronaldo da Costa trains on a rural highway near Sao Joao Nepomucemo in Brazil's southeastern state of Minas Gerais. The youngest of 11 children, and from a simple country home, Da Costa came from nowhere to break the 10 year old marathon world record in Berlin in 1998 with a time of 2:06:05., and has since returned to relative obscurity. Da Costa cherishes his moment of glory but does not dwell on his lackluster performances since 1998.
